Updating bios hp

We just had our machines grab this over the past two days...all our machines have password protected BIOS, and wouldn't you know it, the deliver mechanism DOESN' T CHECK IF THE BIOS HAS A PASSWORD ON IT.There has to be some way to inject that file in there to resolve, perhaps copying it out from the HP BIOS Configuration Utility. However the Sure Start protection might work and block it. I have some test machines that haven't been on in awhile, going to boot them up this weekend and try to capture the full package that's being downloaded to see exactly what is being pushed.

When the HP BIOS update is pushed from Windows Update, the system reboots and attempts to enter the BIOS update screen. Entering the correct BIOS password (to allow the BIOS update to proceed) is met with incorrect password messages. From what I understand, the BIOS update feature is part of the UEFI spec.On units with a BIOS password the process is failing, obviously. Edit: added image for visual: https://m.imgur.com/a/h6jgx There are several such updates available: https:// Firmware Seems related to new microcode updates from Intel, since https://com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-prodesk-490-g3-microtower-pc/7633358/sw Item Id/vc-204896-1 contains the same "N08_0219.bin" file that is in evil!I bitlockered at machine and then it installed that update.Looking at details about the BIOS update, we noticed that the that was used was no longer available.HP released a new version called HPFirmware Upd Rec to replace it.
